Charissa Owens

Charissa Owens is a Louisiana-based abstract expressionist and the creator of hand molded edging™ on canvas. Influenced by the natural beauty of her surroundings as well as fashion, interior, and graphic design, she creates serene, layered compositions that balance muted hues, texture, and spontaneity. A lifelong artist with a BFA in Graphic Design, Charissa works from her home studio and River Oaks Arts Center while also teaching as an art educator. As a wife and mother of three, she brings a sense of wonder and gratitude into her practice, guided by Marcus Aurelius’ reminder of the privilege of living, breathing, and being happy.
